A wedding is a ceremony where two people are united in marriage. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, nationalities and beliefs. I can help you create a ceremony that is meaningful to you, meaning your ceremony will be completely unique for your special day.

The role of a wedding celebrant is not just about turning up on the day and presenting a wedding ceremony. There is a whole lot more to it.  I play a crucial role on your day and so it's important that you choose the right celebrant for you.

So what is involved and what do you get for your money?

Each wedding celebrant led ceremony is unique.

If you are the type of person who really values your wedding ceremony and appreciates that the rest of the day is really a celebration of it then you will agree that a wedding celebrant is absolutely worth prioritising and investing in.

Your wedding ceremony is the focal point of your day and as such should be memorable for its personalisation and remarkable for its sincerity and uniqueness.

By using the services of a wedding celebrant you will achieve a ceremony that is completely unique for your special day.

The importance of choosing the right wedding celebrant:

It is important to remember that the relationship between a couple and their wedding celebrant is not short lived like that of a Registrar i.e. just meeting on the day of your wedding. We will work closely together during the months leading up to your wedding.

This is so I can create the personalised ceremony of your dreams so I  need to get to know you both well.

We will meet many times so that we can get to know each other and you can trust me, feel relaxed and happy to share personal elements of your lives and amusing anecdotes.

I will use all the information that I have gleaned from you at these meetings to create your ceremony.

Of all your wedding suppliers it will be me as your wedding celebrant who will definitely know you best of all. On the day of your wedding we will not be strangers

Pre wedding preparations:

As a professional wedding celebrant I will invest many hours work on your ceremony and a fair amount of that time is in preparation.

I am personally invested in your wedding and this work done in the background prior to your wedding is what will result in a fabulous wedding ceremony experience for you and your guests.

The list of work that follows is by no means definitive but describes some or most of activities that a wedding celebrant carries out:

* Getting to know you and your partner through in-person meetings, telephone calls and video chats

* Providing an in depth questionnaire

* Planning, research and writing your ceremony

* Offering guidance and support on vow, readings and music

* Offering wedding advice and solutions

* Co-ordinating and collaborating with other wedding suppliers on the day and in advance if necessary

* Liaison where necessary with the wedding venue

What's it like working with me?

Great fun! It all starts with a questionnaire which will be sent to you to complete – full disclosure is required. Plan a nice evening in together with a bottle of wine or whatever your favourite tipple is and complete this as much as you can - it will help you to start thinking about what you want your own special unique day to look like.

The questions can include everything from the simplest ‘why do you love your partner’ to ‘what things does your partner do that drive you mad?’ The answers to all these questions provide me with the background into your lives and relationship.

We then make a plan to meet face to face and begin to get know each other - this is one of my favourite things to do as part of my job. We will talk about the questionnaire and I aim to find out even more about you and you me so that on your wedding day we are all comfortable with each other.

So what's so great about about a celebrant led ceremony ?

Well, it’s not just the fact that there are absolutely no restrictions. It’s the entire process. The ceremony is after all the whole point of your wedding. So to make it special, unique and not prescriptive like the Registrar’s regulated ceremony, celebrants HAVE to really get to know you as individuals and as a couple inside and out.  This very fact reinforces how vital it is for you to have a real and proper connection with your celebrant. So, choose wisely. The information the celebrant gleans from you will ultimately result in a highly personalised and bespoke ceremony -it will be an experience that will be enjoyed by all. Indeed, guests will have a deeper understanding of precisely why they are there, and it naturally becomes the reason for the fabulous celebrations that follow.
